I am very proud to be the Head Teacher of Milton Parochial Primary School.
We are a small well-resourced Church of England primary school with 95 pupils currently on roll. At Milton, there is a strong Christian ethos that pervades all areas of school life. We have strong links with our local church and community. There is a good 'family' feel - we know each other well. New children are assigned a 'buddy', settle well and make friends quickly. We are pleased to be a member of the Peterborough Diocese Education Trust. Click here for the PDET news page.
Our children work hard, love learning and behave brilliantly. Our staff provide a caring and supportive environment and teaching is good. We have an active School Council who meet frequently with staff and governors to ensure that the children's ideas and views are an integral part of our ongoing development. Teachers are supported by an excellent team of experienced Teaching Assistants. We are extremely well supported by our parents and the school's governing body. The Friends of Milton School (FOMS) organise a good range of social and fund-raising events throughout the year and provide excellent financial support. The school also carries out an annual questionnaire to parents. The results of this can be viewed here. The children's questionnaire can be viewed here. The school brochure gives information about the curriculum, uniform, staffing and links with other schools.
We have high expectations in all areas of school life - we track each child's progress very carefully across their time with us so that we can ensure that they achieve their best at Milton. Our end of Key Stage 2 results in the last three years have been in line or above national expectations. Please follow this link to our end of EYFS and Key Stage 1 results. You can also find further information on the DfE School Performance Website.
We also pride ourselves on providing an excellent level of pastoral care. In the teaching of Reading we use a range of resources from Oxford Reading Tree, Heinemann Storyworld and Rhymeworld and Ginn. Our phonics teaching is based on the online resource Phonics Play.
We have a good range of extra curricular clubs (football, multi-skills, gymnastics, choir, school band, basketball, scrap book club) and make good use of our minibus to extend learning outside of the classroom. Hot meals are prepared on site and served daily, provided by ABM Catering Facilities Management - click here for menu. We also offer after school provision each day in partnership with KidsStop. We also work closely with GLK Soccer Academies. Information about school places is available from the County Council's Admissions Team. Uniform can be ordered directly from our supplier.
